Hi! I’m glad you’re here.

I’m Amanda, a licensed therapist in Washington State providing connective, trauma-informed Mental Health Care.

I focus on providing care for those suffering from Anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, and low self-esteem.

  • You may be curious about what talk therapy encompasses. I utilize this method to develop a deeper understanding of who you are through a narrative approach. This means you are the story teller of your life. My job is to work alongside you to discover the roots of your suffering, learn to sit with the discomfort, and take back control over your life.

Living with anxiety can be exhausting and isolating. I work to help those who are interested and motivated towards taking back control of their lives.

Who’s a good fit for this type of therapy ?

Are you constantly living in the past or the future? Feeling as if you can’t control your thoughts, feelings, or emotions? Feel irritated, always preparing for the worst case scenario? Always trying to gain control over the uncontrollable? If this sounds like you then you’re in the right place! Together in sessions we will practice becoming more aware of your thoughts, sit with the discomfort, and learn to stop fighting with your anxiety.

  • I practice utilizing narrative based therapy which focuses on prioritizing your story, values, and identities. Our first several sessions will focus on learning more about you, what’s important to you, and your goals for counseling. This is an important part of working toward building a trusting therapeutic relationship. I encourage my clients to come into counseling with whatever is on your mind that day. I’ll ask questions, notice patterns, and work together to meet your goals and develop a deeper understanding of yourself.

  • ERP is a specialized form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and is the gold-standard approach when treating OCD.

OCD has been misunderstood and often missed due to the complexity of this diagnosis.

ERP is used to rewire our brain towards understanding that feared outcomes are unlikely to happen. This is done by learning to become comfortable sitting with your anxieties while working toward building your tolerance of feared outcomes.

The goal is not to eliminate anxiety completely, but to learn to tolerate anxiety without rituals or compulsions.

OCD is exhausting to live with, ERP therapy is a evidence-based treatment that can significantly decrease symptoms of OCD.

ERP differs from talk therapy as it is a structured therapeutic approach. This means we are actively working on skill building through ritual prevention, distress tolerance, and exposure work.
